$8000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Available

If you purchase your principle residence between today and June 30, 2010, you may be eligible for up to $8,000 back from the government in the form of a tax credit. To qualify, you must not have owned a home in the past three years and have a signed contract to purchase in place no later than April 30, 2010.

The recent extension of the Home Buyer Tax Credit also includes a tax credit for up to $6,500 for those who have owned their own home for the past five out of eight years and close on the purchase between December 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. You must have the contract to purchase in place no later than April 30, 2010.
